Did you want to test your characters? Do you want something that you can use for an RP sample without digging up an old thread? Well, here you have it. Pick one or multiple prompts below or, if you want, make a prompt of your own. Just be sure to tag around so that everyone gets plenty of exposure.
1: Explosions in space! Space Bandits attacked the space colony everyone was visiting! Dozens of fighters and mobile armors fly through space, locked in deadly combat. Are you among those battling to save lives? Or are you watching from the windows, praying everything will be safe?
2: Explosions underground! You were part of a trading party, exchanging supplies with an underground penal colony when alien animals burrowed through the walls and started assaulting convict and Confederation member alike! What are you going to do?
3: Explosions over the city! The Colosseum is shooting off fireworks as part of a concert or a sporting event! Are you watching in the crowd, a main attraction, or watching the bright colors from the city?
4: Explosions on an asteroid! You're either observing, guarding, or mining an asteroid! It's rather dull, save for the explosions that rock the ground under your feet. It looks like it'll continue to be just as slow, but... was that something moving in the shadows there?
5: Explosions on a space station! As you approached a research station, you receive a distress signal! Fire's broken out and their systems aren't up to spec! Can you do anything? Are you a part of a scouting crew or out for a joyride in your new yacht? And is this an accident, or something more sinister?
6: Explosions at the gym! Explosive competition! Swimming, weightlifting, running, boxing, someone has just challenged you! Whether they know it or not, you're going to do your best to show them up.
7: Explosions in the past! A star has died! The Fleet is flying through the nebula it left behind, with swirls of beauty as far as the eye can see. If you're the type, you can watch it all you like.
8: Explosions on the road! Most of the traffic on the Teuberg is computer controlled, but some young showoff took his off the grid and promptly caused a wreck! Traffic has been backed up for almost half an hour now, with no way out for you and the people in your vehicle. Are you close enough to see if anyone needs help? Or are you just stuck with people who are as late for their appointments as you are?
9: Explosions in the marketplace! Explosive bargains! You're in a trading hub, surrounded by stalls of all kinds selling every type of merchandise you can imagine! Luckily, you've got enough money to handle a few purchases here. Will you buy one of those daggers on display? An incense burner? Some alien fruit? Or maybe you're on the run from the corrupt guards? Or perhaps you're the one doing the chasing, did someone just steal your wallet?
10: Explosions in your mind! The explosive inspiration that drives this world! Make up your own prompt!

Joan Watson | Elementary
[Joan is attending a performance at the Colosseum which has just finished. She's so intent, curious to learn as much as she can about everything, which is why she tries to attend any events that may be happening. The fireworks are something she's very familiar with, however, leaning back in her seat as she lifts her gaze up to the skies. She feels this sharp pang in her chest, aching there at how familiar something can be when she is so far from home. Her voice is soft, almost wistful when she speaks.]
... at least some things don't change.
[8]
[After medical school, Joan never thought she'd be attending any type of schooling again, but being suddenly transported to some place in space, it changes things. She's not exactly young, but she's back in school again, trying to learn all she can about the life she's now a part of... and trying to become someone else. From surgeon to sober companion to consultant to... student again. She shares that car ride with others looking to educate themselves as well, but they're currently stalled out on the road in the middle of a traffic jam which isn't exactly as common here as they were in New York City. There are many reasons why she never had a car in that city.
It's been long enough now that Joan finally steps out of the vehicle into the street, frowning at the traffic jam ahead as she rests her elbow on the outside of the vehicle.]
...I guess some things don't change.

For the record, it was like this when I got here.

It would be really impressive if you managed to cause the traffic jam and then run back to a vehicle in time to look bored about it all. It'd be the perfect cover story though.

-Pardon, but would there be anybirdie here with knowledge of human medicine? There is a gentleman a few cars back, I have stopped the bleeding but, haha, my knowledge is limited.
no subject
Yes. I-- That's... [WORDS.] Me. [She raises her hand up, wincing apologetically. Very eloquent, Joan Watson.] I'm sorry. I can follow you.
no subject
Ah, good! [He hops with half-spread wings down to the ground and starts to move on foot, head turned so he can see where he's going with one eye, Joan with the other. On his feet he's about waist-tall. A very large pigeon indeed.] As far as I can tell it's a compound fracture of the leg. Bone shards broke through the skin. It's evidently quite painful! More likely than not there are official services coming but this traffic might slow them.
Sakazaki Yuuya, by the way. Please, call me Yuuya.
no subject
Joan Watson. [She doesn't introduce herself as a doctor anymore, doesn't see herself that way.] Former surgeon. It's nice to meet you. You can call me Joan. The blood on your wings was his, right? [If he helped stopped the bleeding, she imagines that's so, but she still has to ask in case he's been hurt.]

Good, good. I found a medical kit, but I'm aware birds and mammals process certain things differently. Local anesthetics in the lidocaine group tend to be lethal to us except in quite small doses, so I did not chance it.
Is that so? Cool. A pleasure, Joan, and yes. [Yuuya's flight feathers appear to be prehensile, somehow.] I'll see about washing it off later - and, here we go.
[gawkers and injured npc. I uh don't actually know much about medical anything. Skip to when he's being airlifted to a flying ambulance?]
no subject
joan wipes her hands clean, releasing a breath as she takes a step away as the victim is airlifted away.]
Thank you. For finding me and for lending a hand... or well-- [a wing is likely the more appropriate term. joan winces apologetically before she turns to him, folding her arms over her chest.] Thank you for the assist. Not everyone would've stopped to help.
no subject
Haha, I'm not everyone! Thank you for coming, mon amie.
[Traces of drying blood have sunk into his jointed, grasping flight feathers. Yuuya starts preening them with his beak but stops, it's just spreading it.]
Ah, the eternal problem with being white. [...he doesn't mean what a human might.] There is a kind of oil I can use to prevent this, but you know how it is, it's when you don't bring it along that you end up needing it! Ah well.
no subject
You're welcome. I couldn't... not.
[It's in her bones to help even if she gave up the medical profession full time.]
You're new to this place too? [This place refers to the Fleet.] Maybe there's an alternative in the marketplace that you could use instead of what you're used to, but I would do thorough testing of each possibility before application.
no subject
Ah, we've something in common! [He bobs his head in a nod, tilting his head with his beak open in such a way that it suggests a smile.] Yeah, it's not something to try lightly. Haha, this is an area where I envy humans. Gloves seem so easy to manage, and skin cleans so quickly!

It's appreciated! You do have fine hands, I couldn't help but notice. [He hops up onto... idk, the nose of a car... so he's closer to eye level. It's weirdly almost silent, unlike that THUMP of landing back there.] I suppose it's not the biggest priority. Even if there was something on my feathers today they have the technology to take care of that. If I decided to go into medicine myself... [his feathers fluff out for a moment.] ...well, maybe. There's no want for opportunities here, is there!
no subject
Thank you. You have fine wings, and I would hate to see them get stained. [She notes the grace with which he moves, the quietness of it. It is impressive.] Would you decide to go into medicine yourself? I have to admit there are so many opportunities here that it's becoming difficult for me to decide where I want to go, what I want to do.
[Joan doesn't want to be a surgeon anymore, but they don't really have consulting detective positions on a Fleet either.]</small

Ah, thank you! Some cold water and salt, maybe hydrogen peroxide, and they'll be good as new.
Hmm! Haha, well, I'm not sure! I do have some minor experience in the field, but it's a lot to commit to. And yes, the chances here... I'm reminded of that quote by one of your poets. Plath? "I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story." So many opportunities, and choosing one could mean losing all the rest.
[He shakes his head briskly, an animal movement.] Though here it seems one can pick and choose more easily than that. There's not even talk about college tuition, is there?

-Because where Maya came from, those were both a bit nostalgic. She had an itch to get into the arena herself, but it would never be the same without the others, or without Mister Torgue's commentary on the loudspeaker. Indeed, while the window dressing was the same... the whole thing lacked the soul that had made her enjoy her time in the Torgue Arena enjoyable at all.-
