Did you want to test your characters? Do you want something that you can use for an RP sample without digging up an old thread? Well, here you have it. Pick one or multiple prompts below or, if you want, make a prompt of your own. Just be sure to tag around so that everyone gets plenty of exposure.

1: Explosions in space! Space Bandits attacked the space colony everyone was visiting! Dozens of fighters and mobile armors fly through space, locked in deadly combat. Are you among those battling to save lives? Or are you watching from the windows, praying everything will be safe?

2: Explosions underground! You were part of a trading party, exchanging supplies with an underground penal colony when alien animals burrowed through the walls and started assaulting convict and Confederation member alike! What are you going to do?

3: Explosions over the city! The Colosseum is shooting off fireworks as part of a concert or a sporting event! Are you watching in the crowd, a main attraction, or watching the bright colors from the city?

4: Explosions on an asteroid! You're either observing, guarding, or mining an asteroid! It's rather dull, save for the explosions that rock the ground under your feet. It looks like it'll continue to be just as slow, but... was that something moving in the shadows there?

5: Explosions on a space station! As you approached a research station, you receive a distress signal! Fire's broken out and their systems aren't up to spec! Can you do anything? Are you a part of a scouting crew or out for a joyride in your new yacht? And is this an accident, or something more sinister?

6: Explosions at the gym! Explosive competition! Swimming, weightlifting, running, boxing, someone has just challenged you! Whether they know it or not, you're going to do your best to show them up.

7: Explosions in the past! A star has died! The Fleet is flying through the nebula it left behind, with swirls of beauty as far as the eye can see. If you're the type, you can watch it all you like.

8: Explosions on the road! Most of the traffic on the Teuberg is computer controlled, but some young showoff took his off the grid and promptly caused a wreck! Traffic has been backed up for almost half an hour now, with no way out for you and the people in your vehicle. Are you close enough to see if anyone needs help? Or are you just stuck with people who are as late for their appointments as you are?

9: Explosions in the marketplace! Explosive bargains! You're in a trading hub, surrounded by stalls of all kinds selling every type of merchandise you can imagine! Luckily, you've got enough money to handle a few purchases here. Will you buy one of those daggers on display? An incense burner? Some alien fruit? Or maybe you're on the run from the corrupt guards? Or perhaps you're the one doing the chasing, did someone just steal your wallet?

10: Explosions in your mind! The explosive inspiration that drives this world! Make up your own prompt!

[Gina scoffs a bit, then waves it off.]

Don't fret over it, it's kinda expected with the situation. If I got mad over every other universe that had it better than mine, I probably would've had an aneurism by now.

We at least got off the ground, from scraps of leftovers from the old world I've seen. So we're not totally backwater.

[She makes an amused noise at his name, then half-grins.]

[ Gene just grins. What are the odds? ]

No kidding! So, Gina, how's a babe like you get all torn up like me? That war you mentioned?

[ He nods at the scars on her arms, then fiddles with the settings on the lateral press. He doesn't go big; he saw how much she was lifting and he doesn't think she'd find him trying to match it all that impressive. It's mostly just to occupy him while they get to know each other a little better. ]

No, that was a couple hundred years back. All this...? Mostly courier work.

[She's a bit blase about it, and halfway expecting another reaction, given how others have often looked at her funny for saying she's just a courier while carrying what amounts to a small arsenal of ordinance.]

[ Gene only sees one pair of guns here, Gina, and they don't have bullets. ]

Courier, huh? You must work some really bad routes.

[Excuse you sir, she is at least packing four metaphorical firearms here, or do the ones you're ignoring need to be demonstrated?

Again, Gene gets a scoffing noise.]

You have no idea.

How's about you give me an idea, then? I'm all ears.

[ Look at this face. How can you say no to this face?

He really does want to hear her story if she'll tell it, though. ]

Well. The short version is that cataclysmic nuclear war also puts a cramp on the whole civilized society thing, so every other person you meet likely wants to gut you for your money or your stuff. It also made a lot of wildlife very, very nasty.

[At this point, she starts back up on her own machine, doing slower and lazier reps than she did before.]

There's an old world saying about 'nothing stops the mail', but everything sure as hell tries.

[A few more reps, then she speaks up again.] We got wasps the size of cars in the Mojave. Getting stabbed hurts less than a sting from those bastards.

[ Wasps the size of cars. Gene tries to picture this and even if they're only as big as some of the compacts out there, that's about a hundred times more wasp than he thinks he needs in his life. ]

Reminds me of trying to navigate through pirate space. We were a little low on giant bugs, but having a couple Tao masters on your ass can make you wish you were just getting stabbed.

[ Gene got the best of both worlds! That scar is still coloured oddly. ]

And lemme guess. You piss off the wrong people and they make it a whole lot harder to make a living.

Eeyup. Can't please everyone, unfortunately, and apparently disagreeing with the wrong people results in being chased down with lots of bullets, smashy things, and pointy objects.

...then again, I suppose that's bound to happen when you take down a despot in charge of what is essentially a military cult.

[She grins - probably a little too sadistic as she puts some pride-boosted effort in a few more reps.]

Totally worth it, though. Jackass didn't let any women do any fighting in his little club. Kinda funny how that worked out for him.

[ Gene lets the press settle and grins at Gina. ]

Only trouble you gotta worry about from me is if you're giving me trouble, kiddo. Don't start anything, there won't be anything.

Well, I can think of a couple things I wouldn't mind starting….

[ Really not bringing your A-game, Gene. If she punches him, well, at least he's earned it. ]

[...really, kid? That's what you built up to?. Gina sighs, giving a wry smile that shows she's less than impressed.]

Gonna have to put a little more oomph into the startup if you plan on getting anywhere there, guy.
