Did you want to test your characters? Do you want something that you can use for an RP sample without digging up an old thread? Well, here you have it. Pick one or multiple prompts below or, if you want, make a prompt of your own. Just be sure to tag around so that everyone gets plenty of exposure.

1: Explosions in space! Space Bandits attacked the space colony everyone was visiting! Dozens of fighters and mobile armors fly through space, locked in deadly combat. Are you among those battling to save lives? Or are you watching from the windows, praying everything will be safe?

2: Explosions underground! You were part of a trading party, exchanging supplies with an underground penal colony when alien animals burrowed through the walls and started assaulting convict and Confederation member alike! What are you going to do?

3: Explosions over the city! The Colosseum is shooting off fireworks as part of a concert or a sporting event! Are you watching in the crowd, a main attraction, or watching the bright colors from the city?

4: Explosions on an asteroid! You're either observing, guarding, or mining an asteroid! It's rather dull, save for the explosions that rock the ground under your feet. It looks like it'll continue to be just as slow, but... was that something moving in the shadows there?

5: Explosions on a space station! As you approached a research station, you receive a distress signal! Fire's broken out and their systems aren't up to spec! Can you do anything? Are you a part of a scouting crew or out for a joyride in your new yacht? And is this an accident, or something more sinister?

6: Explosions at the gym! Explosive competition! Swimming, weightlifting, running, boxing, someone has just challenged you! Whether they know it or not, you're going to do your best to show them up.

7: Explosions in the past! A star has died! The Fleet is flying through the nebula it left behind, with swirls of beauty as far as the eye can see. If you're the type, you can watch it all you like.

8: Explosions on the road! Most of the traffic on the Teuberg is computer controlled, but some young showoff took his off the grid and promptly caused a wreck! Traffic has been backed up for almost half an hour now, with no way out for you and the people in your vehicle. Are you close enough to see if anyone needs help? Or are you just stuck with people who are as late for their appointments as you are?

9: Explosions in the marketplace! Explosive bargains! You're in a trading hub, surrounded by stalls of all kinds selling every type of merchandise you can imagine! Luckily, you've got enough money to handle a few purchases here. Will you buy one of those daggers on display? An incense burner? Some alien fruit? Or maybe you're on the run from the corrupt guards? Or perhaps you're the one doing the chasing, did someone just steal your wallet?

10: Explosions in your mind! The explosive inspiration that drives this world! Make up your own prompt!

[The creature lets out a soft, chuffing laugh that seems not quite human despite how natural the translator-voice sounds.]

The device resembles human landsuits I have encountered before, but the augmentation mechanisms suggest a truly prodigious power source.

[The bit of the suit that Rhodes was working on lifts itself up into the air and neatly disassembles, each part floating in perfect alignment, like an exploded diagram brought to life. There is no glow, no other giveaway, but it's probably a safe bet to blame it on the freaky marine alien.]

[The vehicle explodes in the background. The barrier, which was mostly aimed at the attackers above, still manages to halt the blast. It does not, however, stop a second explosion from their side, which sends them flying against a scorched building.

Kevin has been holding Rena's hand all along, his attention focused on her. He...He has lost the human. ]

[There may be plenty of pitfalls, but this isn't one of them. Once he gets over his surprise, Geordi smiles and reaches out for the plate.]

These are edible for humans, right? [But he doesn't look like he's worried about it.]

[Is he going to have to learn alien cuisine? Is that what is happening here? ]

[ There had been, she would recall later, a protest on the tip of her tongue even before he was done (born from deeper urgency, frustration, that she should be the one slowing them down), words that might have tumbled forth had the world not whited out in fire and sound.

After which, for some unknown time, she could recall nothing at all.

For buildings, you see, are not often kind to bodies tossed at them like dolls. Luck or grace has it that back and shoulders take just enough of the impact, and the back of her head only what remains; still, said remainder leaves her slumped beside him in the moments after, a thin trickle of blood dying her white collar a human red.

[The phone makes a flash when it takes a picture, and makes the actual camera shutter sound- Hey, it's a late 90's phone! And wow what a jerk. Kaname frowns, closes her phone, and calls out to him.]

Hey, what was that for?!

[If he stops she'll fold her arms under her chest to emphasize her displeasure. If he doesn't? Well she'll just have to jog after him, won't she? Kaname is persistent.]

[And without further ado, he takes a bite.]

[ It seems that one of those odd alien creatures has latched itself to the hump on Grunt's back, and because his arms are too short to pull it off himself, he's begun flailing around and smashing himself into the cavern walls. He looks more angry than distressed about it, even going so far as to blast a hole in the ceiling with his shotgun.

That, combined with the wall smashing, is causing some very precarious crumbling from above. ]

Get down here, lizard! You're already meat!

[ So, you're in your car, minding your own business, waiting for the traffic to clear up. Sounds pretty dull and uneventful, right? At least it would be, until the car starts tipping... A look out the window will reveal a very large and unhappy krogan shaking the car and attempting to overturn it, presumably off the road. ]

[Moa's glad that she's not asleep right now, because this is one of the most gorgeous things she's ever seen. It reminds her a little of the Reality Storms back home - soft colors lazily wafting through the air, mysterious and beautiful and perhaps a little scary - although she's pretty certain that it isn't one. No one seems concerned about it, for one thing, and it's not passing through the walls into their rooms like a Reality Storm would. Anyway, whatever it is, it's amazing and she loves it and would like it to stay forever.

You know what else is pretty? Athletic boys in thin shirts jogging around. Those are pretty.]

[Okay, the flash has him slowing down to blink himself back to being able to see, thanks, and the yelling definitely gets his attention after that. It still takes him a few moments to make out the girl with her irritated posture glaring at him through the afterimages.]

... My bad. [He runs a hand through his hair and represses the urge to sigh.] Why were you taking it from the middle of the road, anyway?

Well-! [Her gusto deflates a little, and she stuffs her phone in her pocket. Kaname's eyes dart off to the side as she keeps her sour expression.]

My phone isn't all that good, so I have to work with what I got. [If she was smart she'd trade it in for something more functional, but at this point her phone is sentimental.]

Why contemplate disfigurement in the first place?

[Geordi didn't mean to interrupt, but he came upon the lab just in time to catch the tail end of Mordin's train of thought. He doesn't come farther in than the door, since he's seen enough labs in progress to know better than to walk into the middle of one uninvited.

With the VISOR covering part of his face, it can be difficult at times to tell where Geordi's focus is, but his head is turned in the direction of the viewport, and the nebula the ship is traveling by.]

[That should make amends, right? Mostly he just wants to get back to his running before he loses his rhythm entirely.]

[His rhythm is something Kaname gives zero fucks about. Sorry, bro. She puts a hand on her hip, and doesn't sound any more pleasant than before... but her expression softens.]

[A mask and a foil rise in challenge, then dip in an imitation of a bow.

The problem is, there's nobody attached to them! Elizabeth has, it seems, drawn the attention of a gentleman (or gentlewoman) ghost.

Just ignore weird-looking marine creature somebody's put into the swimming pool a few athletics courts over and a half-level down, even if it seems to be lingering half out of the water and watching the proceedings with some interest.]

She does pause for a moment to reach back into her pocket. Her thumb briefly rubs over the device as she considers to take it out. Eventually she does so.]
Fine. Do you mind if I take one of you in it too?

[There have been a fair few people calling out to their friends or meeting up in the places he's passed so far, so while the nearby greeting does catch Rin's attention briefly he puts it down to another one of those and... keeps jogging. Try harder, Moa?]

All right. [He's not really looking to argue or drag things out but he does have to give her a confused look for the request.] I guess... What for?

Not for running away. [That wasn't even his idea in the first place!!] But we should probably find something to hit them with. If they're there.

[He is still jogging, though at a slower pace so he can look around for... rocks, or something. He kind of regrets leaving his shovel behind, but even Rin isn't really up for lugging an entire miner's shovel around while he's (most likely) running for dear life.]
